Can you help us to understand how we can engage and maintain older adults in exercise classes?
We are asking for your help in a research project which is looking at how we can engage and maintain older adults in exercise. It is hoped that this research will enable us to improve the uptake and maintenance of classes by older adults.
At the moment we do not know how many qualified Level 3 older people instructors are delivering exercise classes to older adults in the UK nor what types of classes they are delivering. We also know nothing about the characteristics of instructors who deliver exercise to older adults. Initially we would like to find out more about this. We are contacting all instructors across the UK who have recognised qualifications to deliver exercise to older adults and would value your input in this process. It would be extremely useful for us to get as many responses as possible from a wide range of people so as to ensure our findings are representative.
The study is part of a PhD funded by the Medical Research Council at the University of Manchester, and at this stage simply involves you completing an online questionnaire which will take you approx 15 minutes.
If you are interested in completing the questionnaire please read the information sheet and covering letter. Then, if you wish to complete the questionnaire please follow the link. Many thanks for your time.
